Trent River Coffee: Company of Tradition

If You Want

A Quiet Cup of Coffee

You Might As Well Stay Home

7:30 a.m. is coffee time.  And just off the docks in New Bern that means Trent River Coffee Company is opening its doors, turning on music, brewing daily specials of regular, decaf, and flavored coffees while preparing for a set of regulars making their way from businesses, neighborhoods, and marinas.

It’s the coffee, but more it’s the company. Owner/operator Ed Ruiz, and the few friends who help him run the shop, engage customers and keep the atmosphere lively and caffeinated.  Enough so, that if you were a stranger when you walked in, you won’t be when you leave.

In addition, Trent River is one of the venues for the Down East Folk Arts Concerts.  With their regular concerts as well as local and regional musical events, occasional literary events, or the chance that Ed is hanging around after hours, it is more than likely you will find the door opening and coffee brewing.
